The website of a long term client has received a new custom website redesign. F. Salce & Associates have had a name change to Borg & Salce Accountants, so their old mobile optimised WSW site needed a redesign of branding and a modern, new responsive design, making it user friendly on all mobile devices and more visible for mobile search engines. We also provided copywriting services for updating the content across the site, adding new information for practice seminars and industry download information for clients. The WSW team were rapt to receive this feedback from the Principal accountant, Phillip Borg.
"Ian from WebsiteWise has developed my business website from day one, the first implementation being in 2011. Now in 2017 we are changing with the times and updating our business branding and website. The implementation and helpful, friendly support from WSW has been outstanding, they are always willing to help & guide us in the right direction with diversifying the website with new functionality and uploading new content to reflect recent changes in taxation and legislation. Thanks again Ian, this will be an ongoing partnership that will serve us for years to come."
Thanks Phillip, glad to continue working together for our mutual success :)
Has it been a few years since your website went live? Is it looking a bit old with outdated functionality or content? Is it failing to capture customers on a range of different platforms? Has your business model progressed to the point your old site just isn't relevant?
If you answered "Yes!" to any of these questions, it's probably time to consider updating your website. Some websites can get away with a refresh, while others will require a complete overhaul. In this post we'll look at both options and help you decide which is best for you.
19. Website refresh or re-design? Which should I choose?
Website refresh - Can be as simple as changing website colours or logo, updating the images in the sliding banner or gallery, refreshing the content or SEO, or adding new pages. Although the changes may update the sites look and feel considerably, the basic platform on which the site is built remains the same. These changes are relatively simple; if you have access to your CMS you could probably complete them yourself, but are also inexpensive if you engage a professional to do them for you.
Site redesign - These updates aren't as straight forward as a site refresh and involve changes to the website platform or recreating a whole new platform. This could include changing the website to a responsive design, updating web application functionality, changing to an eCommerce platform, including a Blog or any or all of the refresh changes mentioned above. A website redesign basically means having a whole new website developed and can involve weeks of design and development work. For this reason it is more expensive.
Just remember, search engines L.O.V.E. regular website changes, so keeping your site refreshed will keep it relevant and rewarded with higher SEO rankings. Hope this has been useful, if you have any further questions, or need to discuss your own website, please get in touch.

Regardless of whether or not you won at the races today, there are three things you can do to make your website a winner in search engine rankings.
- Make sure your website Home page has a search engine friendly URL that includes your basic services or products. Including a keyword phrase in your business name URL will make your website easier for online consumers to find, and search engines to pick up. For more info on this, read our previous Website Tips 101 - Simple URL's for SEO.
- Make sure your website can be found easily on all mobile devices - With recent Google algorithm changes, that means responsive design is a must. Read more about Responsive Design.
- Change content regularly - The content on your website should be accessible, engaging, fun & informative & encourage consumers to come back to your site regularly for additional information. It's important to create fresh, relevant content that tells your company's story. Updating site content by Blogging gives your site more keywords and URLs for searchers to hit on, and they're constantly being added to as you continue to write about new services, products, projects, industry tips and client success stories. Eco Aus Industries already had an online presence developed several years ago. Although it was a great looking website, it was very slow to load, wasn't mobile friendly and much of the website functionality had never been activated and let the site down. The team required a new site with a similar look and feel to showcase their patented range of composite manhole covers to both their industry partners and site visitors alike. WSW developed a custom responsive website using Paralax capabilities as well as updating the website information with fresh, unique content. Read More
